How do I go about renting an apartment?

A: Schulhof Property Management LLC has a simple 3 step process:
Request a showing: Select the property(s) you would like to see in person and contact our office at (414) 933-1211 for a showing.
Apply: Fill out an application form and submit it along with your earnest money. The earnest money will hold your apartment until your references have been checked and the application process is complete.
Sign your lease: Once your application is approved, we will schedule a lease sign within 21 business days of approval notification. (out of town residents may sign via fax).

*All earnest money will be applied toward your security deposit. If you choose to withdraw your application at any time, the earnest money will be forfeited. If your application is denied it will be refunded.

When is rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st of every month and their is a grace period of 5 days.
If rent is not paid on the 6th, there is a $50 late fee.

What is earnest money?

A: A deposit made to a lessor showing the lessee’s good faith in a transaction. The earnest money will hold your apartment until your references have been checked and the application process is complete. Additional earnest money may be required for a specific property prior to lease signing. To see Lease’s “Special Provisions” click here.

What is the difference between earnest money and security deposit?

A: Earnest money becomes the security deposit, once the application is approved and the lease has been signed by both parties. If required, the additional earnest money would also be applied to the security deposit.

Do you accept pets?

A: Only fish are allowed at all of our apartments.

Should I get renters insurance? How do I get it?

A: Yes. All residents should get renters insurance. It is inexpensive and any home insurance agent should be able to assist you. If you need guidance, please contact our office.

Are any of your apartments furnished?

A: None

How much is my security deposit?

A: Security deposits are equal to one full month’s rent. However, if an additonal earnest money is required, then the security deposit would reflect this additional amount.
